Welcome to my first ever blog post! Now I wasn’t quite sure if it would be appropriate to pull an off-the-shoulder look at work. I’m not sure why, but there is a stigma in the back of my head of how much skin one should display at work. But then I asked myself, ‘if you can wear a sleeveless blouse, then why not a one-shouldered one?’
This Zara shirt has the perfect asymmetric cut, which lightly cuts above the right shoulder, leaving the look demure enough to wear to work. I am completely in love with the softness of the powder blue contrasted with the angular neckline and folded cuffs.
Pairing this shirt with a navy blue Topshop Unique skirt enhanced the structural lines and angular look. The super rich wool texture with high waisted belt detailing really do make this skirt unique. I struggle to find skirts for work, which aren’t just the standard black or grey pencil style; Topshop Unique definitely upped their game for one-off pieces that are office-appropriate.
Of course you need a pop of colour. This copper suede and grey snakeskin Faye – as my go to bag of the summer – contrasts the blues well, bringing this look together like a dream!
